How to Use Hashtags on Instagram
- You can use up to 30 hashtags per Instagram post, so try to use as many as possible.
- Choose hashtags that actually relate to your Instagram photo and comment. Relevant hashtags will allow you to get more likes on your Instagram photos.
- Familiarize yourself with a new Instagram Hashtag before you use it. Sometimes, a hashtag may not be used in the way you think, so it’s best to check before you post.
- We like to litter hashtags throughout our posts and add the remainder at the end. You can add your Instagram hashtags in bulk at the end of your post caption or in the post’s comments.
- Be sure to add your hashtags as soon as possible. Posts show up in the Instagram hashtag feeds in chronological order from when the post is added, no matter how recently you added your hashtag.
- Try not to use the same hashtags every time. Switching it up will help you reach a broader audience.
- Use a variety of hashtags, both large and small. Tagging your posts with popular hashtags with 10 million or more posts will allow your photo to be seen by many, but only for a brief time. As more people use the popular hashtag, your photo will be lost in the list. Smaller hashtags that have 200k or fewer posts allow your photo to live near the top of the hashtag list for longer.
